Quick update: my last day in Istria, Croatia

Sadly, today is my last day in Istria.

The last four days have been a whirlwind of fine dining (wait till you see the pictures), local wine appreciation (and there was a lot of drinking), seduction by olive oil (reportedly) the best in the world, and scenery that made me consider (for a minute) buying an old building and staying here to do it up.

Our host have been friendly and informative and everywhere we (me & five travel bloggers) we met Istrians building their businesses (many were women) using the many varied resources on their doorstep. If it wasn't in season, it was not on our plate or in our wine glass.

I was due to leave for Venice today, for three days, but instead am off to Split & Dubrovnik (in the South) instead with fellow traveller, Laura Motta (http.lamericaine.blogspot.com).

I hope to have a little more time to update you more regularly, but if not I will do a brief update before I leave for Spain next Thursday, I'll get to that next time too.
