Procrastinating Ola

Doh! How could I have missed this ...

Computer_oops I can't believe it. You wouldn't think, as someone who travels as much as I do, would forget that my passport only has six months and one week before it expires.

This is a major problem because I wanted to travel to the USA today.

Sure, I can still travel, but knowing my luck I would get an over zealous customs official who would test my last nerve. And who knows, send me back which could lead to me featuring as 'crazy black women traveller' on Youtube.

Solution - emergency passport renewal time. It's bad enough that the normal fee to renew a passport is £72; in order to get my new passport I have to pay £114!

I know it's my own fault. But how did 10 years go by so quickly? I remember when I got my new EU passport in 2000, I couldn't imagine what I would be doing in 2010. 2010 seemed like an untouchable year from a space movie.

Sadly, I as I confine my old passport to a box somewhere, I am sad to be losing the many 'travel' stamps I have collected over the last nine and half years. Stamps from Thailand, Brazil, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, and more, plus my treasured entry paper from Cuba.

Enough with the reminiscing, back to the problem at hand. I've managed to get an appointment, at the passport office, on Thursday. Fingers crossed I will get my new passport on the same day, so I can head off this weekend.

Meditating Wish me luck!
