Jan 1st, 2012 - a day for wishes not resolutions

January 1 2012 , Written by thediversetraveller Published on #New Year, #Resolutions, #Travel News, #wishes for life

New year is traditionally a time for resolutions. Things you hope you will be able to achieve come the end of the year. On January, 1st, while grazing upon my immediate family, at a family lunch, I realised for the umpteenth time, that I am truly blessed.

There is always room for more.

Rather than set myself countless resolutions, that I will immediately forget or break, I've set myself New Year wishes; inspired by the 'Believe' Christmas sign I saw outside of Macy's, New York, in 2010. I have to believe this year will be better that 2011, so while the family were talking, updating Facebook, and moving the plates to take photos, I drafted my 12 wishes for 2012.

My 2012 wish list

Here they are in no particular order, I wish:

1. I end 2012 with the same number of family and friends, making exceptions for new additions

2. When my niece arrives, mother and baby will be in good health

3. I continue to fight-off on-going physical or mental health issues

4.  I continue to meet and work with many more inspiring people

5.  I explore more of the UK, enjoying the idiosyncrasies of the many different towns and cities

6. I travel to new countries and learn new languages

6. I find and work with people who will help me improve Diverse Traveller taking to the next level

7. I mentor more young people, helping them achieve their business desires

8. I find a life partner who 'gets' me

9. I find a home, anywhere in this world

10. Feel the fear and do it anyway, write, write, and write! 'nough said!

11.I will be able to find enough work in the North, that it is worth my while not moving back to London

12. Finally, I wish I live through all of the above, resulting in yet another meaningful and thrilling year.

What about you, your wish list doesn't have to be as long as mine, what do you wish for yourself this New Year?
