Noticing the omission of black people in the Renaissance art of Europe, #Nigerian designer Wale Oyejide decided to correct the "mistake" with his Spring/Summer 2014 Ikiré Jones collection, calling it the "Untold Renaissance". “It's a bit of a reminder that though much of our past was not recorded on parchment, we still have a rich tradition to pass on to one another,” says Wale. “So much of what we purchase as consumers are items devoid of history or any real identity.”
