Clean bill of health

Following my mysterious fainting at Baltimore airport, I thought I'd give you an up date.

Travel Insurance

Before seeing the doctor I called the Global assistance medical help-line, as stated in my insurance policy from Columbus Travel. They are a 24 hour assistance line, but were totally unhelpful and could the person who spoke to me be anymore disinterested and un-empathetic.

Before I could explain my case, he told me that he couldn't do anything for me as he couldn't access my records at this time (10 pm UK time). He told me to call in UK working hours in order to check if any medical treatment would be paid for. I can only be thankful that I didn't have a serious problem.

Fortunately, my consultation and blood test cost $94 (£54). However I won't be getting that back as the excess on my policy is £60. I requested the forms from Columbus travel and am thankful I didn't have more expensive treatment as the forms are very detailed and several pages. How anyone, in a time of crisis, can fill and supply all the required information is beyond me.

Clean bill of health

Got by blood test results today, and everything is as it should be. The doctor is baffled, as am I, so she has me on bed rest, or should I say settee rest for the next few days. The only downside of that is it is boiling hot here in Katy, Texas (in the 90s) and I want to grab some sun before I return to London. If I'm felling a little better tomorrow I will recuperate beside the pool.
