Texas tan

I've always been envious of my friends and family who have a residents gym and pool.

But not today, today I am making full use of the pool. It's typical Houston weather, mid 90s, and I am now a darker shade of plain chocolate.

For two hours, Chelsea 8, my friend's daughter, and I had the pool to ourselves. I, gingerly swimming, I learnt recently, and she fearless even though she is also a new swimmer.

Chelsea is still in the pool, while I keep an eye on her from a sun lounger in the shade. My tan is coming along nicely.

As I 'work' on my tan, I am reading 'Stranger in a strange land' by Gary Younge, and bopping my head to Marvin Gay's 'What's going on' album.

We have just been joined my a mother and tween son, who have included Chelsea in their ball game.

This is the life!

Got to go the ball, the has come my way and it's time to cool off in the water.
