After eight days in Canada, Ronke and I headed to New York. New York hotels are hideously expensive, so after a quick search on TripAdvisor, I found the Best Western hotel in nearby New Jersey.

Here's my review:

“OK hotel with indifferent staff”

Sept 5th to 7th, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway

Ronke and I stayed here as a cheaper alternative to a New York hotel. Thankfully it was only for three nights. The room and facilities were clean and spacious - very good value for the price we paid. However, the staff were another story.

One sent us in the wrong direction when we were looking for breakfast (which was very poor, better off going to outside), others didn't have a clue how what is in the vicinity, e.g where the nearest post office was, or how to travel around on public transport. They also looked like they were being bothered.

If you don't need any help from the staff, and you get a good deal on the price, then I would recommend this hotel, otherwise look elsewhere.
