I have been reading a lot of non-fiction book of late, great for expanding my mind, but sometimes hard work. My brain has cried "enough!", so this week, I am giving my brain time off and reading something light i.e Savannah Blues by Mary Kay Andrew.

I bought Savannah Blues  from the Amnesty international book shop in Hammersmith. The shop sells an eclectic mix of second-hand books most cost from £1 - £3.50. I bypassed books about worthy causes, travel and The Classics and bought Savannah Blues solely because it is set in one of my favourite cities, the Historic District of Savannah, Georgia.

Savannah Blues would be considered by some to be 'Chick-lit'. You know the type, unaware beauty married her childhood sweetheart who comes from an old and prominent Savannah family, after ten years he betrays her and she goes to pot, she is later accused of murdering her rival; then while all this is going on she is reunited with a teenage fling who is now, you guessed it, a hunk, but determined to sort out her life, she does her best to avoid and antagonise him even though she is simmering with desire.

With a likeable heroine, her old-fashioned and disapproving parents, charming and snobbish Savannah society and a guide to antiques, Savannah Blues is the perfect read to whisk me away from the rainy days heading our way.
